Out here in the sticks, we can't vote in the city races, but that doesn't mean we don't care. The city elections have an impact on those of us in outlying areas too. This morning I saw the election results and was pleased to note that the candidate I wanted to win actually DID win the mayoral seat for our town.
The current (now outgoing) mayor has the distinction of being the only local elected official ever to have sent a "flame" email to me, after I wrote a letter to the editor that he didn't like.
Perhaps he did that to a few too many people. I certainly wouldn't have voted for him. Apparently quite a few others didn't either. Here's to a change for the better ;-)
