IdeaWeaver Passes Microsoft Platform Testing

This week we found out that our IdeaWeaver software passed independent platform testing at Veritest for Windows Client Software and Microsoft Office. (VeriTest is the testing service of Lionbridge Technologies and performs the Microsoft Platform Test for ISV Solutions.)

Passing the software certfication is also our first step toward becoming Microsoft Certified Partners.

Note that if anyone has questions on IdeaWeaver, we do have a forum set up for it here:

Meanwhile, I just put a book into IdeaWeaver that I’m updating. So far, it seems to be working great.

IdeaWeaver - Software for Writers

We’ve been working for quite a while on a new software product and last week, we told the world. Yes, IdeaWeaver is now available for free download at:

IdeaWeaverSoftware.com

We’ve been using it for a while and if you do a lot of writing (or even a little) it’s extremely helpful, especially if you’ve ever been stuck staring at the page wondering what to say.

With IdeaWeaver, you can just start entering ideas as they float into your brain and organize them later. So you don’t have to fret about your “topic sentence” or structure, until you’re ready. You can set up topics and categories to help sort your ideas and your research. Then you can organize your ideas into an outline and export them for use in your word processor.

I’ve also found that IdeaWeaver is great for keeping track of ideas that you want to write about later. Because I write three newsletters, I often used to have scribbled notes lying around with ideas. Now they are all in IdeaWeaver. I’ve also used it to store random information and notes that I didn’t know what to do with before.

Anyway, I hope other people like it as much as we do. It’s free to try out for 30 days, so why not?

Anger Grows Over NSA Surveillance Report

In a sign that political opposition to surveillance conducted by the National Security Agency may be growing, a wide range of top Democrats took aim at the program throughout the day and called for immediate hearings to investigate the president’s eavesdropping and data-mining efforts.

Readers Speak

In the lastest edition of Logical Tips, my non-nerdy musings included a survey on whether or not people like LT the way it is or would like some changes.

The response was overwhelming. I promised to answer everybody and I have, but let’s just say I’ve been answering a LOT of email.

Cool Vegan Site

We tried the recipe on her blog for vegan feta and it’s not bad. It probably would have been better had I followed the instructions correctly. Oh well.
